When You Have To Shoot First

I believe that the question that Watzman proposed is indeed an interesting one. He wonders if it is ok to kill someone. Is it your call to play God and decide who dies? His friend I believe was not completely justified in killing the wounded man, because he could have searched him to see if he had a deadly weapon concealed. However, I am not completely sure if I would act being in that situation because hopefully I will never be in that situation. Now in today's age we have become such a paranoid group of people that we let this flaw outcome us sometimes, and it makes us do terrible things. Like the cops killing the man in the subway. I understand that they were scared that he was possibly a suicide bomber, but shoot him point blank in the head, without asking him any questions at all that are just inexcusable. People, I feel, should only take a human life if they come after you first. You should never shoot first, because you could be taking an innocent life for no reason. Do you tell the London man's family that he was killed for the fact that he was wearing a jacket? Yeah I didn't think so.

Inconvenient Truth

An inconvenient truth is a good article that basically reiterates what Al Gore stated in the film. I believe that this is a true. The government should be helping this problem with our atmosphere. He brings up very good points in this article, and I feel as a nation and as a world we should be taking the signs more seriously. There is so much scientific evidence supporting Gore's theory. There is no discrepancy between the scientists it is the public media. Most people read the public media not scientific journals. I personally do not know anyone that reads scientific journals on their own. Of course people are going to believe what they read in the New York time and other newspapers or magazines.

Many people are led to believe that this change will be expensive, but studies show it would benefit us financially in the long run. It confuses me that people can deny this is happening. Proof is in this crazy winter we had this year. I believe the government should be doing a lot more than it is now, we need to save the earth for our children and future generations.

I believe that no matter where you live, gun violence is not to be tolerated or thought of as a game. I believe especially in Iraq this should definitely not be encouraged. These children are unjustly subjected to this violence everyday of their lives. They are way more vulnerable to this kind of play than American children. Not to say that the war does not affect children in this country but the war is not in their backyards and around their homes. Our children are affected another way their family members are going over seas to fight this war. War is never the answer, there is always time for peace, this world is big enough for everyone to live happily. However, if we allow children this young to be tainted by war then our world has no future. It is a sad concept, but I firmly do believe that children are our future and if we do not protect them then our world is lost. Children should not be surrounded by violence, so we should do everything in our power to help them, and this start with not allowing them to play those terrible gun games where they shout things like "You coward, I will kill you" come out of a six year olds mouth. This must be stopped and controlled if we want our world and our children to stay safe.

"DNA Test Gives Students Ethnic Shocks" Response

As I read this article it made me wonder if I am fully white. I know that all my family members as far back as I can remember or have heard of have been white, but I may not be 100% white. The people in this article learned that they have so many other races within them that they had no idea about. I felt this was a very universal article in the fact that everyone who reads it could relate somehow to its message. The message in this article is that we are all human beings, we are all connected by that fact. You cannot say a person of a different race than you is nothing like you, because you would be incorrect. We are all people, all humans and that single fact will unite all people forever. I believe that hateing another person just because of their race is wrong. Everey person is a human being and deserves respect!

"Your Gamet, mtself"

I found this the most interesting article out of the two because I think this is a very interesting topic. The people that go through the procedures I think are doing a good thing. I mean adoption is a good thing if you think you can handel the many hardships that go along with an adoption. However, I believe many women want that special relationship that a mother and a child have as the child grows inside the mother. Eventhough the child is not technically theirs biologically, the mother still regtain the connection with having the baby grow inside of them. One thing however that did bother me a little was the fact that the future mothers choose their donors, it is like they are picking their future child out of a magazine. Also i felt that the donors seemed to be selling their egg like they were going to produce the best children ever. That seemed to make little sense to me. I do think that the mother should know if the donor is passing on any dieases, etc. I feel that every woman should be given the opprotunity to have children and I feel that IVF is a good way to allow them to experience the maricle of life.

Response "Facebook: Why I Hate It"

I am responding to this article not because I hate Facebook, on the contrary I love Facebook. However, I do agree with why she hates Facebook. I too dislike Facebook for many reasons, but it is too addictive to stay away from. The two main problems I have with Facebook are I find out about the relationship status of my best friends before they tell me. The second problem I have with Facebook is that it takes me away from doing my homework and this is a major problem. As I write this response, I am on Facebook, delaying writing this response. In conclusion, I love Facebook because it keeps me connected with friends and family, but I seem to have a Facebook addition and for that I hate it. I seem to have a love hate relationship with Facebook, and I do not think I will give up my addiction any time soon.
